Writing things that don’t include the pandemic, masks, social distancing, and all that goes along with it feels wrong. But considering we have no idea what things will be like when this is over, how can I write something that shows that unknown truth?
And to write about things as they are now, in the present, well, I don’t know if I can do that without some distance between now and myself. The news moves so fast, so much happens each day, and we’re losing so many people (and we will eventually have to actually feel that). I
have no idea how to write about it when we’re basically in survival mode right now. Looking ahead is very hard.
So I write like it didn’t happen, but it still feels wrong while I do it.
We may have to imprison our bodies but nothing can imprison a writer’s thoughts and emotions. Thank you for expressing the honesty of your feelings, but please don’t lose hope the night is the darkest just before the dawn as they say… Thanks for sharing such an emotionally intense post! According to your convenience please do read some of my writings would love to know what you think about them 🙏😊
